Associate Professor Guoxin Cao of the Department of Mechanics and Aerospace Engineering won second prize in science and technology at the 11th Peking University Teaching Skills Contest.
The contest was held from December 16-18 at Peking University, attracting 85 young teachers from science and technology, arts and social science, and medicine. After three days of intense competition, 12 teachers of science and technology, 10 teachers of arts and social science, and 25 teachers of medicine won accolades.
Three young faculty members, Guoxin Cao, Yanfeng Zhang and Heng Li of the College of Engineering, participated in the contest. Cao demonstrated the course, “Computational Solid Mechanics/Molecular Simulation,” and won second prize. Zhang won the Participation Award with her course demonstration of “Nano-materials Science and Technology/Scanning Tunneling Microscope Technology.” Li also won the Participation Award with his course demo of “Flow Physics/Introduction of Basic Concepts and Darcy's Law.”
